Glad to be a girl wins bloggie!

Posted on 17 March 2009 by Nic Haralambous

It’s always been pretty tough to represent locally when it comes to international awards online. The market is much larger than ours when you look abroad, many are dismissive of what we have to offer and some have simply yet to discover the jems that emerge from Africa.

However one blogger is breaking that mould. Glad to be a girl has taken home the Best African Weblog award at the Ninth Annual Weblog Awards. I think this is a fantastic achievement for the blog and for South African bloggers alike.

What a fantastic achievement and my congratulations go out to Philly Girl. Catch her on twitter too.

Yblog up for weblog award

Posted on 08 November 2007 by Nic Haralambous

It seems as though there is only one South African blog that managed to crack a nomination for this years Weblog Awards. Yblog!!!

The awards seem to have lumped the Middle East and Africa together (as if the two aren’t big enough alone?).

So, get on over and vote Yblog to a victory!!
