The new Jack Parow video is absolutely freakin’ fantasties. I love it. I dig his cocky arrogant vibe, I dig Mr. van Coke rocking out hard. I think the quality of the music video production is brilliant and it could easily pop over on to MTV and no one would know the difference.

I especially love the very loose use of the curse words that rock through the song. These guys are fast becoming my new heroes on the music scene.

Do it, buy the album, watch the video, blow the lid off this song and give these guys the exposure they deserve.

With thanks to Bangers and Nash I discovered Ashtray Electric‘s new music video, “When sex becomes a sport”. It is nothing short of absolutely astounding. It compares to some of the best music videos I’ve seen emerge from anywhere in the world and would love to know who came up with the concept and shot it so I can award them with the credit they are due.

Fokof, fokof polisieman fokjou.

Now that is alot of swearing in Afrikaans, but these are the words that first opened my eyes to the incredibly cultish Afrikaans rock band, Fokofpolisiekar.

Watching the trailer above makes we want to fly to this bands next gig and throw my panties at them (I’d start wearing panties just so I could throw them!).

These rules (“these rules”) govern entries into the Afrigator / Parlotones Hands on Wine dinner competition (“this competition”). If you enter the competition you agree to be bound by these rules. In order to enter this competition and be considered for the prize, you must:

create a blog post (“your blog post”) on your blog, before the closing date, that mentions the Giant Mistake wine somewhere in the content of the post;
post a link back to the Giant Mistake wine website located at http://theparlotoneswine.com on your blog post.
By entering this competition you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age.

This competition ends at midnight on the 31st of October 2009. The winners of this competition (“prizewinner”) will be selected on or before 7 November 2009 and will be notified by the contact email address supplied when registering on Afrigator.com as well as on http://blog.afrigator.com. The outcome of the competition is subject to the decision of The Organisers of the competition, whose decision is final, and no negotiations and or correspondence will be entered into after the fact.

So this incredibly funny video is doing the rounds in South Africa at the moment. I couldn’t help but post it.

The Graham Norton show is a talk show in the UK on BBC ONE. Graham recently featured Anna Paquin. She is an Oscar winner and star of True Blood series on HBO at the moment.

I was personally enthralled by True Blood (even before Anna gets her kit off in the show).

Apparently so were The Brothers Streep. In fact they are such big fans of Anna’s that they wrote a song about her. Graham Norton found this song and played it for Anna when he was interviewing her.

This is what came about. It is hilarious and the Cape Town band, The Brothers Streep were Skyped in the middle of the show to play their song. It is a 6 minute video so buffer and then play but it is well worth waiting for.

When Aking launched on to the scene I started to wonder what I’d been missing with their other band, Fokofpolisikar. I was right, I’d been missing out.

Now I bring you the very first Afrikaans Rock/hiphop/rap colaboration. It comes to your from a rocking South African group called Kolproduk and and Straatligkinders. The track is called Desvalido. It’s getting major airplay on SA Radio nationwide. Rock on.
