The Bara taxi rank was host to a fairly large flashmob of about 2000 people recently. Have a look see:

Well done to Amstel for finally making use of a great marketing tool in a high-traffic area in Johannesburg.

I question the use of the phrase Flashmob here, this more like astroturfing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astroturfing) to me. A flashmob is supposed to be viral and spontaneous and brief. It is supposed to be this sudden thing the comes and goes like a blink. Showing up in a already crowded place, setting up a stage, and having a couple hundred of your employees dance in unison seems a little less spontaneous. I like the idea of entertaining fellow comuters and it looks like they put on a good show, but equals the same joy like having a really good pillow fight when no one expects it.

The lame Amstel t-shirts reveal its just another corporate attempt to fake something real. Some Heineken marketing guy in Amsterdam is laughing until he can’t breath that this passes for a flashmob.

I’ve said that least 3324747 times. The problem this like that is they are just too compilcated for the average bird, if you know what I mean

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.
