Hi Collette,

Thanks for the very abrupt comment. I've officially changed the official image of the official logo to the official one.

Next time simply contacting me directly or leaving a pleasant comment requesting the change would suffice.

Appreciate the comment and the heads up on the logo. All done!

Please note that this is still the wrong logo. It is squashed - the proportions are completely wrong. Please remove and replace with the correct logo. This should not be coming up on google searches for the Brand South Africa logo.

Thanks in advance...

This new logo is very fitting in the sense that it shows with basic colours what is happening in South Africa. Black has become the dominant colour to the detriment of Red (Orange), White, and Blue which is almost completely gone from the picture. Very accurate indeed.

Noticed this Fan Page created on Facebook, brought to my attention by Nic himself - can this really be described as crowdsourcing...(shrugs)...I'm not sure...?

I don't think that this kind of "social media" drive is the right direction for a rehash of the "pseudo-pride logo".

Wow - find this seriously weak. Why didn't the incompetents who designed this shoddy thing swing it via a "Nationwide Crowd Sourcing Initiative" for approval?

If this is my country as I proclaim everyday, myself and I'm sure millions of others would have some say in what get distributed worldwide in terms of National Pride and Image...

I find this shockingly unpatriotic and censored...

Not impressed at all. Very poor execution of one of the most important brands to us South Africans, especially leading up to 2010.

The logo / brand also doesn't lend itself to be used in different sized mediums.

As the interwebs would say - #fail.

Mmm ... also not sure - like the 'directional', 'moving forward' appeal. But the writing is a bit childish ... or is it just more fun & informal?? A bit out to lunch on this - but sure it'll grow on us?!!

Thanks for your blog Nic, it is nice to know that S A still has many friends. True we have problems, crime and incompetence, but so have other countries. I think we should all adopt the black american anthem 'we shall overcome'. It will take time but have faith. Meanwhile we are still a holiday destination in popular demand and the more good new we spread the better we will fare. I am trying to do my bit with my blog (juststarted) timesharetales.blogspot.com and will be happy to link up with you if you want
regards
