Well I might love the actual dance “twist” (like the one that John Travolta does in Pulp Fiction) but I’m not so sure I could do this twist.
What am I on about? It’s a new “reality gameshow” called Can You Twist that is purely online and launched on July 7th. I am surprised there hasn’t been more hype around the competition.
The prize is R10 000 for the winner. There are 6 competitors, each an up-coming short story writer. SA Rocks’ very own Cooksister is one of the contestants!
The basis of the reality show is simple:
Can You Twist is South Africa’s first online reality show featuring six of the country’s hottest young female storytellers…and your votes. Six weeks, six women, six twists and one ultimate winner.
For six weeks, from 7 July 2008 to 20 August 2008, six of South Africa’s most talented emerging short story authors will compete for the title of ‘Short Story Diva’ in a first of its kind online reality show.
Each week you can follow the daily story updates [Monday - Friday] right here on Canyoutwist.com and then cast your opinionated vote on Fridays when the tales end with a twist. Each one of the stories may end with a radical twist, but all may not be as it at first appears.
What you need to do is head over to Can You Twist and vote for your favourite (Jeanne of course!!). Voting is also going to get you entered in to a competition to win prizes so you aren’t left out either.
Now let’s hope the brains behind this event will initiate a male version and maybe a unisex version? Just a thought.
For now, I think this is a great idea that needs some legs, so blog it, tweet it or talk about it but just get reading!
