In fitting form the very first Star Actress award at this years inaugural Msanzi Awards went to Ashley Callie.
From ashleycallie.co.za:
Robert Whitehead (Barker Haines in Isidingo) and Steven Miyambo (Orlando in Isidingo) accepted the award on Ashley’s behalf. As they left the stage, they both sent a personal message to Ash. Steven said, “Miss Lee, rest in peace” with Robert exclaiming, “Wish you were here girl!”

Truly it is sad that Ashley Callie died at such a time in her life; she had so much to give yet and we so much to appreciate still. Also what saddens me most is the fact that our artists are not much appreciated and recognised while alive, this grieves me as an upcoming filmmaker! But I do love this one thing about our country, our celebrities are not measured up to some standard that should they not fit they’re chucked out and treated as non-existent. South Africans love and appreciate any artist that is brave enough and willing to share who they are, for not much a reward and truly so. As this country grows from strength to strength may our artists persevere for great shall be their reward.

I prefer what you’re announcing although I don’t genuinely have an understanding of what you stated. It is far from exactly the same this is Japan. Asians possibly notice a little in a different way. I always wish to search for a Cookware girl’s point of view.
