This is most definitely one of the great initiatives around the holiday season in my opinion.
I am not an emotional kind of guy. I am a wall of steel (hahahaha). But this show on Jeremy Mansfield’s show in the morning really makes me want to weep.
It’s a strange kind of emotion, it’s a rational, uncontrollable urge to weep when I hear the wishes that people make.
What makes the situation even more incredible for me is that within SA’s current social platform there actually are many people who just want to give.
CEO’s, big company’s, small business, individuals, family and friends and anyone else Highveld calls upon is willing to help out those in need.
Today’s wish was just too much for me to actually handle though so I wasn’t able to listen to it all. A little girl of 12 months old was diagnosed with rare cancer of the eye and was going blind. The parents merely asked for a double bed, nothing more. They ended up receiving a few things, the largest was R100 000 lump sum from Primedia (and the bed).
Where? Where does this happen? Not everywhere, not in SA, but on Highveld stereo.
You might think this is some sort of bias post, but I am personally not a fan of the breakfast show on Highveld, other than Joffers My Boy. I am a Gareth Cliff listener. But this is definitely one area where Highveld blows 5fm out of the water. Charity.
If you live in JHB and don’t listen to the show, I think it’s time you started. If you don’t live in JHB, get to the Highveld website and see what you can do to help out, listen live and learn more about the Christmas Wish.

Ubuntu is still very much alive and well. There are still people who really care about others. It is not always about money. There are many who just need someone to listen to them, there are many who just need a bit of cheering up and many who just need someone to lean on for a while. There is always something that all of us can do to help others. Well done to the all the guys at Highveld and the folks who support this worthy cause.

Jeremy is not my favourite person but somehow I find myself tuning into his program every December. Incredible achievements each year on his “Christmas Wish List” …… and he makes me cry all the way to work too!!

KFM down in the Cape also have a similar thing going. I think it is a fantastic initiative. I love to believe that people are generally good! Call me naive if you must.

I have a Chrismas wish to my precious mother.
When I was 3 years old my mom was divorced. She never looked at a nother man, because she doesn’t want a stepfather for her kids. When I was 7 years old she neerly died of bleeding kidneys. The Lord gave her back to us, but she was never the same again.
With half a kidney she struggle our 3 kids through school. No parent could give so much love and so much of herself to her children as she did for us. I am a 31 grown woman. The worst of all she is in an old age home ten years now. (she is only 57 years old). She has osteoporosis and is in a wheel chair for more than ten years now. She is very sick, and have so much pain. At this moment her body is allergic to about every thing.
At this moment she’s got no medical cover, and she only gets a disabillity pension that hardly provides for her medical needs. They want to put her on the list for a new kidney, but her body is so weak for any operation.
My christmas wish for my dear mother is to get her a new electric wheal chair, because the one that she have is giving so much trouble. And I wish for some medical assistance for my mother.
Please I would appresiate it if you can help her this Christmas.
My mother’s name is Marietjie Meyer
PS: Please do not put her on TV, she is not a peoples person, because of her condition.
Regards
Vanessa Meyer

Hi Vanessa, thank you for your comment. I have forwarded on your christmas wish to the Highveld team. Hopefully they will get back to you if I hear anything!
I have removed your contact details from your comment above as it’s not a good idea to disclose that much information online!

KFM does the same thing during their breakfast show in Cape Town…I would love the Christmas wishlist idea to be extended further, so that more people are helped.

This is a wish I had for a long time now. The only reason my wish can’t come true is because of money. I feel embarrased to say this out loud, but money is a real issue. But sometimes we just need to ask. That’s why I decided to send you this e-mail.
My mom stay’s in Cape Town. I miss her very much. She been my roll model since I was a little girl. I haven’t seen her for a few month’s now but we do talk over the phone. Although it’s never the same. I miss her so much!
Anyway, I stay in Vdbp, married to a wonderful man and we have a 5 month old girl.
My wish is plaintickets for my mom. Even if it’s just a one, because then she can come and see her grandchild. I know she misses her a lot!! She is scared that my child will forget about her. Not seeing my mother as often as I did is really a sore point and I would like to change that but I can only manage with your help.
Please can you help me. I would like for my mom just to visit. That’s all i ask.
Please, Please it would mean the world to me and my mom. I would be so grateful. I don’t now what else to say other than God Bless! My number is 071 444 8141.

Dear Highveld,
I hope that you will read this email and that God will hear my prayers and that with those combined a family and more will be saved.
My story starts with my aunt and uncle, their 3 young children in primary school and pre primary school, my elderly Gran (73) who’s pension pays about R500 a month and her son (49), who is unable to leave the house because he suffers from a social phobia, a young woman who my aunt and uncle took in and let live in their outside room and her son who is about 4, who does not go to school for lack of money and transport.
The problem: there home has been attatched and they are about to loose their business and their home.
Shirley and her husband- Warren, work day and night, sleeping sometimes 2-4 hours a night, trying to keep their heads above water, a roof over their family and extended families heads, and their children in school. They bought a party franchise which they thought would be lucrative but ever since they bought it they have gotten deeper and deeper into debt, and now they are about to lose their house as well as their livelihood and this not only effects their family of 5 but also my Gran who gave them all her savings to put into building an extension on their house for her to live in. my uncle, not being able to interact socially doesn’t earn a cent and live in the outside Wendy house and only has his ancient computer to keep him going. The young woman and her child live in an outside room as they can’t afford accommodation anywhere else and also works for my aunt helping with the parties.
My heart aches for my family because neither I nor my parents are in a position to help them and they are such good people- they work so hard and always try to have a good attitude. What they do every day brings so much joy to so many children. There own children see so little of them and I really do fear the worst for this family. All they need is a caring hand to help them back onto their feet. To maybe help them with some of their debt so that they can all continue to have a place that they call home. I know that there are so many deserving people of help, I really feel that this Christmas miracle could change their lives for the better and ensure that my family and the ones they help have somewhere to spend Christmas this year, although it will be one without Christmas gifts and meals. A home is better than none. Please help them, short of sounding completely desperate, if you can’t help them, is there any other help out there. I can’t bear to see them loose their home and jobs. I just don’t know what would happen, there’s Is nowhere for them all to go.
Kindest regards,
Catherine Bien 0741004754

I really don’t understand how people can pass comments like :”Jeremy is not my favourite person” it is unkind and hurtful. I was taught that if you cannot say anything good ab out a person don’t say anything at all. Jeremy is the best, I have never met him, however, Each of the presenters on 94.7 are very special people, they are like different spices adding a special flavour to the station.
I love him. another saying : Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
Thank you to all of you at 94.7 – You brighten up my day everyday, I travel to work by Metrobus from the South to the West, I get up at 4AM and get homeafter 7 PM in the dark, the cold, the rain, standing at bus stops in the heat with no shade, no place to sit, most times I stand all the way to work and home – I am 59 yrs old and have had two hip replacements and it happens to be 94.7 that makes it all worth while for me. So, when you see an elderly woman walking in the streets of JHB or on the bus with a big smile on her face, or laughing her head off – That’s me – Listening to my friends on 94.7

My mom has worked in a cafe all her life like a typical Greek lady. When my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer she stopped working. my father past away in 2002.it was really hard for all of us seen as he was our pillar of strenghth.
My mom was diagnosed with cancer in 2005 when i was pregnant with her first grandchild. With all our prayers and her faith she overcame it. unfortunately the cancer came back in 2009. she had to go to Greece because she did not have medical aid here and so her treatment is being done there.
The chances are that during the christmas season she will be in hospital.i know that seeing her grandchildren will lift her spirits but we cant afford the tickets.
there are people out there who are worse off, i do realise that but my wish would be to see my mom and for us to be with her during the season of christmas.her children and her grandchildren. thank you for at least reading my wish.

Hi All
I’m not sure if all of you listened to Highveld this morning (18 November 2009). The first Christmas wish for the day. What a wish. Well for those who didn’t listen this is just to inform you of the wish.
Megan has a small child (Kyden) that has a tumor that the Dr’s can’t cure. He was 3 when he was first diagnosed with a tumor in his stomach. They did remove it but after 2 months the tumor was back. According to the dr’s nothing can be done now. They gave this small boy a couple of months to live. This is way I’m sending this mail. I’m asking that each one that reads this mail to pray for this little boy and his family. Only God can help this little boy.
Dear God
You know the situation with little Kyden. You know the suffering he has to endure and his family. Father I ask of You today to help this family. Comfort them and protect them. Father I ask that you bless this little boy. I ask that You heal his little body. We as human can only do so much but You can do so much more. Father please take this little boy in Your hands and heal his body. Take his pain away. Father you have shown us time and again nothing is impossible in Your name, this is why we bring this child to You. Father we ask that you have mercy on this little boy and his family. We thank you Father for helping this child and for healing his little body and for helping his family. We ask this in Your wonderful and powerful name.
Amen.
Please forward this to the people, so that we all can pray for this little boy and his family. There is no better doctor then Jesus.
Thank you.

Good day,
I do not were to sent my christmas wish to, so I hope that someone will see this wish of mine. I am 31 years old, married and have 2 wonderful girls, the one is 21 months and the other one is 10 months. I am the only one working at home, my husband he is getting epilepsy, so there is no other income at home. My only wish for this christmas is to make things special for my family. God has been great for us, if I think what I went through the last 2 years, my first born was born premature and she is really a miracle child. I lost my car, I had to sell it other wise they would have repossed my car and I would have had a bad name. I do not have a permanent job, so you can only think that the money I get I must still pay rent and the things that the children need. Life is so expensive out there, that I could not for the last 6 months buy any groceries for me and my husband, because of everything that are so expensive. I only make sure that I can buy food for the children and the nappies they need. I know that you get so many wishes to be granted, but please will someone find it good in their hearts to assist me. I want to spend my christmas with my family to give them some presents and to have something nice to eat!
My contact details are: 078 517 4085
thank you and God bless.

I looked at all these emails and thought by myself, life is hard for some people. Im 22 years old, struggling to get divorced. I was married for 3 years. I have two beautiful kids. they are 3 years old and 1 year 7 months old. They mean the world to me. I left my husband because he was abusing me. (banging my head against everything, spitting in my face, kicking me, tried to suffocate me twice, throwing me with things, etc…) I work for a business in Heidelberg.
My salary is R1500-00 per month. I receive R1500-00 maintenance for my two kids. He took my car and kept most of my furniture. We live with my folks. Me and my two kids share the same room. All i want for Christmas is a Divorce!! PLEASE SANTA HELP ME!!!

Good Morning Jeremy and Staff,
My name is Nicollette and I am married with two boys, aged one and three. My husband has not been working for the past two years and it has been a battle living on my small salary, but we had survived because we had each other and the children. He recently got a job which he was to start the 30th November 2009,something that we were both looking forward to.
My husband has been looking after the children as we cannot afford help, and if he did find part-time work we would have to try and find family members who could look after the boys, We have not been able to put our eldest son in crèche for a full year, as every time he starts, the next month he would have to stop because we did not have the money. We have just about been able to survive.
Our rent and electricity is currently in arrears of R6000, we have had to sell some furniture to make ends meet. He went to Angola this year, after my family assisted us with an airfare donation so he may try to find work there, he did do some work and came back with about R20,000 which we were going to use to settle some of our debt, but when we were going to the bank on his return to change the currency his wallet was snatched and we lost all the money.
He has been constantly applying for jobs and in August got a job to start 1 December we were very excited as life seemed suddenly not as bad, while he was waiting for the job offer to start he decided to go back to Angola to work. While in Angola my husband got involved in an accident where he injured his neck and broke his vertebras. He has had two operations last month in Angola, and recently came home to be with his family and recover here in South Africa. During the course of the week he has been complaining about pain in his neck and that he could not swallow, even liquids. I then suggested he goes to see the Doctor. I had R1000 that i was saving from the beginning of the year for the boys Christmas presents and Christmas food, and had to draw that out of my account now, so that he could get an x-ray done. The Doctor then told him that the plates that were placed in his neck were broken and that he would have to have another operation done. She then referred him to a Specialist that then informed him that he definitely needs another operation that will cost about R150 000. We don’t have this money and we don’t know what to do. The kids are just so happy that their father is back and now all this happens. He definitely will not be able to start that job in December. We feel so helpless, we are not on medical aid as i could not afford it on my salary our families have been so supportive but cannot assist us with this kind of money. It seems like it will never end, i am ready to just give up and would if it wasn’t for our 2 beatiful boys.
If there is any way that you can assist us PLEASE HELP make our dream come true for a operation so that my husband can start his job.

Good Morning, Uncle Jeremy
I am 13 years old and both my parents are unemployed. We had the worst xmas last year as we could not pay our rent and sat in darkness throughout christmas. We are worried about my brother and my schoolfees as I will be attending high school next year. Mum is still struggling to pay this year’s school fees and I am already worried about my books. We have never ever had a christmas holiday and I dream of going to the beach for the first time in my life since I am born. I also wish to have a small dog. My brother, Emmanuel, who is 11years old has never had a bicycle and wishes that you could make his dream come true. Dad and mum have never ever had a real honeymoon for 14 years and I’m afraid xmas wont be easy as we are growing and need a whole new change of clothing and uniforms for 2010. We are a close family and my parents only pray that GOD will give them jobs.We as children only want a nice year ending. Its also a problem now for us to have so many needs because of the economic climate. Dad needs a new prothesistics leg and his car needs serious attention ,Mum also needs to see to her health as her eyes are always cloudy. CAN YOU HELP MAKE MY 13 YEAR OLD DREAMS COME TRUE?.THANK YOU GOD BLESS AMOUR.
Dad,Alain : 0822229811
Mum,Clarissa : 0114313791
Thank you.

Dear Jeremy at Highveld Stereo, please help our very good friends Herman and Liz Knepscheld who are going through desperate times financially. Herman is an incredible man who after spending 24 years in prison was released in 2006. During the last 7 years of his incarceration, he gave his heart to the Lord and helped inmates overcome addictions to alchohol and drugs as well as attending to their spiritual needs. He also obtained a qualification as a plumber whilst in prison in addition to obtaining certificates in christian counselling. Herman was for many years a gangster and now he calls himself a “gangster for God”, and speaks to high school kids to encourage them to make the right decisions in life. I (Graeme) have introduced him on some of these occasions and I never tire of hearing his amazing testitomy and how he has transformed his life. Today he is married and him and his wife have adopted a little african girl named Tsolofelo.
However, because of his many years in prison Herman has found it extremely difficult to make ends meet, and he and his family are struggling finanancially. We and our friends try to help them as best we can but we know that this is not a premanent solution to their plight. We know that if someone could give Herman a permanent job, they would be lifted out of their current distress, and after all these years we feel that Herman truly needs a break. Please help him, he is a very good man, but because of his record, he finds it extremely difficult to find work.

THIS COUPLE LIVED IN THE TRANSKEI WITH SEVEN CHILDREN AND INTENSELY STRUGGLED TO GIVE THEIR CHILDREN A DESCENT LIFE LET ALONE THE COMFORTS THAT MOST ECONOMICALLY CHALLENGED FAMILIES CAN PROVIDE. I AM TELLING YOU THIS STORY BECAUSE I HAVE WALKED IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THESE PEOPLES LIVES TO SEE HOW GOD CAN TEACH US TO FORGIVE OURSELVES IN ECONOMIC RECESSION.I ONLY ASK THAT JESUS IS HONOURED IN SUCH SITUATIONS AS THIS BECAUSE I UNDERSTAND WHAT STRUGGLES DO TO PEOPLE AND I AM BLESSED TO SEE ON MY JOURNEY THAT NATIONS OF DIFFERENT COLOURS CAN PULL TOGETHER BECAUSE THIS TOOK PLACE IN MY FAMILY.PLEASE GRANT THE LATE MASTER W.LOUW ONE WISH THAT JESUS IS HONOURED IN THIS SITUATION AND THAT HIS MEMORY IS UNVAILED SO THAT THESE NATIONS CAN REMEMBER THAT HIS FOOTSTEPS WERE THOSE OF SALVATION. WE ARE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE MIRROR REFLECTION THAT WE SEE OF OURSELVES IS THE FOOTSTEPS OF JESUS CHRIST. THE SHOES THAT WE FILL IS THAT WE ARE ONLY COMPLETED IN HIS GREAT LOVE FOR US. HIS GREAT SALVATION AND REDEMPTION OF OUR SIN THAT BRINGS THIS FREEDOM TO OUR HEARTS TO GIVE THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL LOVE.I WANT TO SEE JESUS FACE IN RESPECTING THE MEMORY OF THIS MAN WHO WANTED TO LOOK AT THE FACE OF HIS LATE PONDO WIFE BEFORE HE DIED.HE LOOKED AT MY HUSBAND AND SAW THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND SAW GODS FORGIVENESS WHEN HE SAW HIS WIFE FOR THE LAST TIME IN HIS ALAIN LUCIEN MABONZOTS FACE. Morning all,
I am taking a long shot here, and I know there I more people that is worst of than me, but I have to try. My name is Ettienne and I moved to Joburg a month ago. I worked on a cruise ship, and returned to South Africa due to personal reasons. I lived with my mom in Klerksdorp, and was without work for 3 months, and we went through a very difficult time financially. I got a job as a sales executive for VW Bruma, and have now completed my 1st month here. My mom had to move to a smaller place in Klerksdorp in order to help me with to find a place to stay, and rent for a place to stay in Joburg, and she was not able to pay her rent, or buy food. This month was my first month as a salary earner again, and you all know the if you don’t make commission you don’t get much after they deduct your medical ect. I could not pay all my rent, and so my mom also could not pay all of her rent. Its been a really tough here keeping our heads above water, and we never get our heads above water. Borrowing money to stay afloat is not helping, and I have though about giving up many times this year, even thought of suicide as an escape. My wish is to maybe help my mom and me to get back on our feet with rent and so forth, cause each month this cycle just continues, and I admire my mom for sacrificing so much for me. Please help us, I put off writing this email for so long, but I got to a stage where I need to go get some sort of 2nd job just to survive, I did not sell any cars in my first month, so not even Christmas is looking good for me and my mom. I have to catch up with my rent, and that will be 90% of my salary, but I am putting my mom under pressure because like any mom she wont let her children suffer, and she will even suffer on her own without food, so even if you cant help me, please help my mother cause she has sacrificed so much for me! Please guys, I don’t know what else to do, and I don’t really want to go work in a night club as a barman, but if need be, I have no choice.

Hi Jeremy and team
I write this with a very heavy heart!
My Mom who has been role model for many years, was retrenched two years ago. Although she has had some temp jobs in between, most of the time she has been without work. From being a strong women, I have seen my mom crumble down due to depression and not having money sometimes even for the most basic things. I try my best to give and help out where I can but due to these tough economic times, i can only give so much. My mom will go to bed hungry but will never allow her pets to go without food. There are many times that my mom has given the dogs mielie meel as there was no money for usual dog food or treats.
My mom is a Diabetic (type 2) and requires chronic medication which she struggles to get money for. My mom’s health has deteriorated over the last two years. From being fit and healthy my mom is thin due to the stress and her health. Our family doctor is not happy with her health but unfortunately there is not much we can do as my mom no longer has a medical aid.
My mom is on the verge of loosing the house she lives in. My step father works but the money he brings is not enough for them to survive. This causes additional pain and strain on their relationship. My mom is an accountant/ bookkeeper and due to the Bank working differently to other companies, she does not have all the qualifications and experience that they are looking for and no one seems ti understand that she is willing to learn and is a fast learner.
I am not asking for much maybe just a day to the spa for my om to relax and re-focus and re-gain her strength or groceries. A job would be absolutely fantastic!!
My mom means the world to me and seeing her break down from time to time breaks my heart as there is nothing much that I can do in my situation to help her. Everything has completely down hill since she was retrenched and she has already lost so much I can’t bear to see her break down anymore.
My only wish that should you have the means to help, please do not air this request on the radio as this would be a bit embarrassing for her and I don’t think she would be able to handle this and I’m afraid that her health may deteriorate further.
Thanking you in advance from the bottom of my heart.
The Christmas wish has brought me to tears over the years and I never imagined I would one day be in this position.
God Bless you and your team!
Dee

Hi Jeremy,
Hul mediese Fonds is uitgeput.
Dankie

Thank you for just taking time by reading our letter. I hope you can find it in your heart to be able to help us for we as un family are at a breaking point and struggle to live day for day.
Last year our lives where perfect we had everything we supported 2 different families who where struggling, but our luck changed when I found out I was pregnant, I lost my job when I was 4 months pregnant my fiancé then had to open 2 additional loans to pay for natural birth, everything was payed for but like everything else our luck changed. I was in labour for 18 hours when they decided I have to have an emergency seizer; my husband had to make 2 extra loans to pay that as well. We can’t pay for it anymore and it’s breaking us, we barely have money to pay for my son Logan Josh for his food each month, our rent went up, electricity went up and my husband was in an accident loosing his car. We had to get a cheap car, I can’t find work because I don’t have my own transport although I have studied for 3 years and I’m qualified.
As an husband and father my husband Marc feels he failed our family, he is working 6 days a week gets up at 4 and gets back at 7 every single day. He couldn’t even pay for a honeymoon. If you can please find it in your heart to help us as a family to get our lives back on track, please. Every night when my son goes to sleep we cry and pray for a miracle, and one of my friends said I must send you guys an email.
We have options to phone a loan shark to help us but we don’t want to put our son in that kind of situation.
My husband is my rock he stood by me when I was raped 4 years ago and I fell pregnant but lost the baby. He is always there for everyone, please help him so that he can help his family.
We are R100 000 in dept and soon we are going to loose everything we have left because we can’t pay anymore.
Thank you for reading this I hope you can bring us good luck before 2011.
Sincerely
Bianca McCallaghan

hi there – i have a Christmas wish for a 17 month old baby who needs urgent help in the form of therapy that his parents cannot afford. Kevin Feldtmann was diagnosed with zellweger syndrome – a disease that leaves children blind and deaf – it stops their development almost completely and they cannot walk or talk. Kevin can’t sit neither smile or hold his bottle. he will attend the Jonathan Livingston Centre in Pretoria from 1st November for basic therapy but the crutial intense therapy that he must have, can only start when funds become available. This is Kevin’s only chance for a “as normal life ss poosible” – please help to assist this little boy.

hi there guys, i have a wish list but not for myself, its for a children’s home in Roodepoort. it houses 43 kids with different background. their ages are from 1year to 19, presently they get no funding from the government and they depend on us the community for food, clothes, etc. the place is very small for 43 kids in actual fact they are supposse to have 36 children living there. due to that fact that there are no homes around and these kids need help desperately they cannot turn them back. my wish is for them to get a bigger home to shelter atleast 50 of them. PLEASE HELP THE SITUATION IS TERRIBLE thank you.

I have my mom who at the age of 53 has been diagnosed with cancer! she went for a hysterectimy and they found she has a tumour the size of a small childs fist on her bladder, we have started her on chemo and would like my mom to be as comfortable as she can be while at home with us!
my mom is my life and cant stand to see her struggling to get in and out of bed, as she has had a port inserted above her chest and makes it incredibly difficult for her to sleep at nights.
My wish would be to have some sort of a reclining bed that can help my mom sit up or lie down to make her more comfortable ( aka a hospital bed)
Thanking you guys at 94.7 from the bottom of my heart!

Hi, I have a friend who went through a devorce 3 years back. The result of this is that he left her with so much debt. She earns a small sallary and due to all the debt she barelly comes through per month. He car is a very old golf, this golf are so undepended it brakes all the time, leaving her standing next to the road. The car is a total wreck, but she has no other option. She have an 11 year old daughter, everytime the car brake, she can make a plan to get her daughter to school and then she will walk from the school to her work. This is like 10Km and it is through a dangerous area. Everytime that the car brakes it sets her back financially. She lives on a farm 30Km from Rustenburg, the car are sometimes leaving her standing next to the road at night. We are not always there to help when this happen.
My Wish is that somoene can just help her and her daughter to get a car that is economic and dependable.
Thanks for your awesome haerts towards people ot there.

Good Day
The only wish i have is if i can get my mom new coaches for the sitting room, we stayed in a shack for more than 15 years and managed to build her a small house, but now i can not afford any othe things due to the loans that i took when building the house for her, and the only thing that she wishes this Chirstmas its new coaches, because the one we’ve got its so old that one day one of her friends from church visited her she fall inside that coach and my mother was so embrassed, its actually hard for her now to welcome visitors because she cant sit and chat nicely with them.
if my mother can be granted her wish i would really be grateful, i am not looking for anything fancy even if its used ones the will be much better than the ones we had for almost 20 years.
Thank you

Hi there. My wish would be that all the kids and elderly people who cannot receive a gift this Christmas, get something, even if it is something small or just some love I think it would mean the world to them. There are so many people and especially kids out there who suffer on a daily basis. We can’t help them all, but we can try and make a difference in their lives.
I think it’s better to give than to receive…

My Christmas wish
Dear Highveld family, my christmas wish is dedicated to my husband .This year it was tough for me, on the 15/04/2010 my father passed away.It was the most difficult time in my life.I didn’t know what to do since i am the only one working, out of all of my fathers children.I was the one who was reponsible for everything, eg repatriate his body from JHB to Limpopo, funeral arrangements, tombstone(in our culture tombstone is erected immediately) everything, i had to do it together with my husband. We had to use all of our money. My husband was very supportive through out. When my father passed on, i was pregnant and i had a miscarriage after 3 weeks. It was terrible, i couldn’t eat for days, i was depressed for a long time because i was dealing with the pain of losing my Dad and on the other side losing the chance of becoming a mother again. The pain still cuts deeper, as memories are vehemently clear. Everytime i close my eyes, i see my father’s face on his last day on earth. Our last day together(day before he died) we spent the whole day at my place of work.He was just sitting aside while i was doing the job i love with all my heart, helping my clients. We went out for lunch, i bought noodles for both of us at shoprite.
My wish is to buy my Husdand a lawn mower , he likes his own Garden and everytime when he has to do the lawn he often borrow the lawn mower from my father in law.We are unable to buy one because we still repaying the loan we took out for burial .We just moved into a new house and we are even struggling to finish paying maxidor for security battle proof. We are now left with 3 windows , 2 doors and the slide door. Our area is very dangerous but i know that God we protect us.My christmas wish is for Highveld family to help me buy this little pics of machine that my husband saw desires. He had a tough time this year because i was in a terrible state for the whole year, he didn’t even enjoy the world cup since he was buzy travelling to hospitals. This year i was in and out of the hospital and he was there and not to forget that we don’t even have a car to travel with. But we planning to buy one 2013.Highveld, please help me, to make my husband’s dream come true. Hi there
My name is anita, mom of 6 of the most wonder full children in the world. Tony 19, Nikita 17, Eloise 11, Calene 10, Domingos 5 and Aliandra 2, and we stay in Swartkops in PE. We have had a very hard year behind us. My husband lost his work over a year ago and we are struggling to feed the kids. There have been many nights this year that they have gone to bed without food, there were no birthday presents or money for any thing special for our kids. Tony wrote his grade 12 end of last year and can’t find employment. He has done some lose jobs for people to help the family, his dream is to become a commercial diver to support his family, Nikita is walking to the shop for our neighbors two old people, and they always give her there change in return, that is our bread money. What is breaking our hearts is the fact that they never complain about anything, they love us even though the only thing we can give them is our love. Can you see why I think they are so wonder full.
My wish for my kids is a decent plate of food for Christmas, the bad thing is that the small children believes in Santa and what am I going to tell them…they had been so good.
Please if there is any one out there that can help me.
I have never ask anyone for help, my mom help when ever she can and I would like to thank her for being the best mom any one can wish for.
My phone no is 071 201 3992
THANK YOU.

HI there!
I would like to nominate my Grandmother for make a wish! Her story is not one I can simply summarize in just a couple of sentences. She is the most amazing, strong, inspirational woman I know. She is the kind of person one can only strive to be like, even only a little. If I could only be 10% the person she is, I would already be a 80% better person. But she has had a journey that was not an easy one.
18 years ago, after being married to someone you could only describe as a monster for 31 years, she finally divorced him. But she left with nothing, and having been a housewife for 31 years, it was not easy finding a job. But she did. And she saved until she could finally buy herself a car. She was so proud when she came to show us her little red, second hand UNO. Ofcourse we were all very happy for her, but the little car was the subject of much playful teasing about the little red “skedonk”. But my Grandmother was not fazed, she would always (still does) refer to her car as her little red “Porsche”. And all trough these years the “Porsche” would make us all swallow our words, because every time when any of the children’s cars broke down, the “Porsche” would be the stand in. And I would call her 04h00 in the morning, begging her to come and fetch me (these calls happened quite often as I grew up in an extremely abusive home) sure enough, she would arrive, my knight in shinning amour IN her trusty red steed! She has always been only a phone call away.
But 17 years has passed and the end of the road for the “Porsche” has come. So this year, at the age of 67 (turning 68 20 November) my grandmother realized that her “little pride” was in need for some serious repairs and much replacements. (To make a list of what was wrong, would be too long a list. A list of what was still right would be much shorter…..well the door handles still work) So she took on a part time job, which didn’t pay much, but she saved every cent. Finally she saved enough to have her engine over-alled. As per the quote a “trusted” acquaintance gave her. He even said that he would not charge her labour, only for the parts. He is a qualified petrol and diesel mechanic at profession. He did everything from his home, and so as we’ve come to realize now, has done exactly that, a backyard job. And of course, nothing is under guarantee. The car came back (if you could believe it, even worse)so hard worked for money, simply down the drain.
Then just to make the year even worse, she got basically kicked out of her home. She was staying with one of her daughters, and they decided that they could rent out the granny flat. They took her out of her flat in the first place, when they begged her to go and stay with them!!!! It was too much. My Grandmother suffered a stroke. Thankfully she has now recovered. She is currently staying with her other daughter and is very happy, as she is now in a home where she is wanted and loved very much.
But allas, still no car. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, HELP ME LAY THE “Porshe” to rest. It has gone all the road it can go, but Gran still has a million miles to go. She needs a car desperately! It needn’t be a Porche! It needn’t be new. It just needs to be reliable, and if possible light on petrol. If this is not possible we need someone who knows what he’s doing, maybe we can breathe new life into the little “Porshe”
Please help me give her the best birthday present in 68 years. She ABSOULUTELY deserves it!!!!
Yours sincerely.
Madeline (a grandchild begging you to help me give back to her, as she has been my hero all of my life!!!)

Hi there Highveld
I have a very dear friend who has been through so much this year, I do not know if it is right from me as a friend to actually tell you about it but I guess I have to.
Her name is Mariska and se is 21 now. Earlier this year her mom and dad got divorced so she end up in hospital for depression. While in their care she found out she was pregnant, it was then when her fiancé, Hein left her. I’ve thought about everything that could possibly make a difference in her life but I just feel so helpless! Her Little boy Keagan is almost 3 months old and it is so sad to think that his daddy isn’t interested in him nor his mommy. I can just imagine how hard it is to be a single parent! She is truly a great mommy and one can see she loves her boy with all her heart, but financially it is a struggle as she has to do it alone. My wish is to just please provide her with clothes/ food, whatever, just to make her life a little easier???
My farther in law has a saying: “If everyone’s problems fell out of the sky, you would dive for your own.” And a totally agree. But if I were to be in her shoes I would dive for someone else’s.
Please Highveld, Please make my x.mas wish come true???

Hi 94.7 Team
My name is Timothy Mohlala and I am writing this note on behalf of a family that I know living in Eldorado Park. Mirriam Baulackey has a daughter named Shenaaz Baulackey who is Cerebral Palsied and has a C-shaped spine and has had a hip-socket operation affecting her sitting position: she can only bend slightly. Shenaaz needs a wheelchair but not the conventional type but a special type that can accommodate her condition. Mother and father separated pending divorce. Father living with another woman in Coronationville area and there is no support from him or relatives. Shenaaz spends her day lying on a sofa and Mirriam is not able to travel with her even when going to the shops or church because that mean that she has to carry her in her arms, which is impossible. All that Mirriam needs is that she be able to take her daughter for walks in the street. Hopefully someone will be able to make this a reality for her.
Mirriam can be contacted on: 083 693 5574
Timothy can be contacted on: 076 393 6126
Thank you.

Hi 94.7 Dream Team,
I am in desperate need of your help, I have a friend who’s son 19 yrs old, had a heart attack a few days ago and is currently in a coma in Leratong Krugersdorp State Hospital, his recovery is very poor and know this has much to do with the lack of medical equipment, & his parents do not have medical aid & they are financially unable to support him with proper medical attention.
My wish for him is a good recovery, I myself have 2 little ones and surely know that I could not live without them, or see them go through an ordeal like this and not be able to help them, so I beg all of you to open your hearts and sincerely ask if it is possible for the 94.7 angel team to financialy support him with a proper hospital with all required medical equipment & medical attention this young boy deserves!!
Thank you for taking time to read this…..PLEASE PLEASE MAKE THIS WISH COME TRUE FOR THIS FAMILY!!!
Kind Regards
Lindi

My sister and I are
twins. When we were in
our teens we were
very rebelious and
both fell pregnant at
the age of 14
My parents stuck with
us and over the last
7 years worked hard
to help us
financially to
support us all till
they.now are
Financially stressed.
My father had cancer a
couple of years ago
and now cannot speak
without an octivox.
He is my hero because
although he cannot
speak he holds a job
and is always kind to
all his children.
Every 2 years he
needs to buy a
new machine to be
able to speak and keep
his job. This year he
cannot get the money
to buy a new Octivock
machine, so now my
wish for christma is a
new machine so he can
speak for another
2 years and keep his job.

Hi my name is M. Wilskut,i’m traditionaly married to my wife Joyce Mogomotsi for five years but we lived together for 3yrs before marriage but at that time we didnt hav plans to have our own kids. For five years we’v been trying to conceive but things are not goin our way cos my wife went to a gyaenacologist for treatment an he discored a cyst on her ovaries but it was removed sucessfully.
An then we thought our problems were over an we tried an tried an nothing happend. We went back to da specialist an they said her fallopian tubes were blocked and she need to go for operation which her medical aid could’nt cover an we had to pay for it.we raised money an she went to unblock the tubes an the operation was successfull. And after da operation the Gyeanacologist said becos it is a big operation it will take 4month for her to heal an then we can try again.we’v been trying till to day but she still can fall pregnant.I’m giving her all my support cause i love her an want her to be happy but this is causin her to be unhappy wen she sees a pregnant woman she cries, or wen she sees baby clothing she’ll hold them an cries inside the store an she’ll get home and pray cause that what keeps her alive an it breaks my heart as i hear her prayin, cryin like that an asks God to make her a woman an bless her like other woman.
She buys all fertility medicines an pills an she doesnt giv up
an this hav affected her perfomance at work also.I hav a kid from my previous relationship an she doesnt hav any children an she is 34yrs now she’s worried the clock is tickin out for her an maybe not be able to hav kids of her own. My wife loves kids very much she’ll go to her friends an take their kids to malls ,games an hav fun with them as they were her own an she will always ask them to her her mom.
My wish is to ask highveld stereo to help me make my wife happy ,we’v been tryin to raise 40000 to go for the INVITRO FERTILITY TREATMENT cause thats the only solution the specialist recommended cause her eggs are not strong enough an her ovulation. She’s been on Clomid for 4months now an still nothin is goin well for us.PLS help me ,i have so far raised 10000 but its still not enough as the process for INVITRO FERTILITY TREATMENT CAUSE ABOUT 40000.PLS HELP US, I WISH TO SEE HER HAPPY ONE DAY HOLDIN OUR OWN CHILD TOGETHER .THANX

Good morning. I’ve got a heavy heart due to my sister and her husbands situation. Two months ago he sundenly fell ill, and afer many visits to various specialists they have not come to any conclusion of what is wrong with him. My sister fear that whe’s going to be a widow soon, because he is going backwards fast. I wish I could help to get him the proper medical care that he needs and that he can see a doctor that can help find the cause of his weight loss of more than 18kg’s in less than the months, lumps popping up everywhere on his body, head aches, out of breath, can’t walk, can’t eat. They are also struggling because they don’t have a medical aid. They don’t have food for him to take his medication. They have a elder son attending Planet Pixel to graduate from graphic design this year, but not able to pay his college fees beacause they don’t have the money. Their youngest is a very good rugby player and next year his school is going on tour, but they can’t affored to send him with the rest of his mates. It’s causing alot of stress that add’s to his condition. Please try and help if it is possible to get him the proper care that’s needed and for them to know the way forward. My nephew is also stressing and can’t focus on his studies with all of this. Their younger son might also not make his grade this year because of all the stress of not knowing what’s going to happen. My brother-in-law Francois telephone number is 0829010592.

I have a christmas wish for a colleague of mine. Her name is Matsepo and she gives her entire salary away every month without spending on herseld. She is currently working full time and also studying after hours. She is paying for her and her sisters studies. She is also sending money to a family memeber every month to take care of children of another family members that can`t afford to take care of them. She buys clothes and gifts for them and also sends this home to them in Eastern Cape. Her mother is a domestic worker and is old, but cannot afford to retire. Matsepo`s greatest dream is to build her mother a house back in Eastern Cape so she can retire. She has managed to buy some building material, but it is not nearly enough and she cannot afford to pay a contractor to build the house. This is heave on her heart as she is so willing to give of herself. At one stage she even slept on the floor as she gave her bed away to someone who did not have one. My wish is that someone would help her build this house for her mother so her wish could come true. If there is someone out there that could maybe help her pay for her studies she would also have some extra money for herself.

Eugene Fisher is husband and a father of 7 children. 6 of which are his own and 1 his nephew who he chose to raise after the child’s father past away. He is a very dedicated family man and a respected person in the company, family and community. He is a person of integrity and will not do anything to compromise that in anyway.
He is an extremely hard-working person and always puts the needs of others ahead of his own even if it means bending the rules to help them sometimes and he takes responsibility for it.
The past year has been a very trying time for Eugene.
His wife is a community home school teacher. Due to the economic situation, there were months from last year till mid this year were his wife did not get paid for teaching as the parents could not afford it the fees. As a result Eugene needed to support the family on his own.
From last year he has had to deal with car repairs for which he needed to borrow money to fix to ensure his wife could still get around to go to the shop and run errands for the family while he took the bus to work every day.
Earlier this year he found out his wife’s grandmother got sick and needed full time care but could not afford to pay for the care herself. (his wife was raised by her grandmother). Being a very family orientated person, Eugene arranged for his grandmother in law to stay with them so his wife could be close to her and provide the care she needed adding to his already laden expenses. His main concern was that his grandmother in law needed to be comfortable and he put his trust in God to get them through. Eugene would sit up with her in the middle of the night if she could not sleep just keeping her company until eventually she could rest.
There were times he needed to rush her to hospital as her blood pressure was at a critical level. During this time on a few occasions, his own mother (whom in also quite old) also took ill and he had to rush from where his grandmother in law was hospitalized to be with his own mother adding to the emotional burden.
Just when things looked like they were improving and the health of his mother and mother in law were stabilizing, his father was diagnosed with Prostate cancer.
A few months ago he was informed by the bank that held his home loan that the arrangement he had made with them previously had expired and he did not approach them to sort out a new payment plan as he had arranged to pay a lesser amount monthly to be able to support his family. The bank demanded an outstanding amount of R100 000 within the month or they would repossess his house. The bank had not sent him any communication stating that the arrangement had expired and with all that was happening in the family, he forgot about the arrangement as well. The bank refused to accept any arrangement he was prepared to make with them even if it meant paying a higher amount just so that he could save the home his family had been living in for many years. It was either pay the outstanding amount or they repossess. After many meetings and discussions, following the initial demand, they agreed to allow him to sell his home within certain conditions and that being within 2 months and with their appointed agents or on his own or they would repossess the house. He managed to sell the place on his own but lower than the actual value. He settled the bank but barely had anything left for a deposit to rent a house for his family. With a family of 7 children and his mother in law, a flat was too small. While in the process of looking for a place to rent, the bank blacklisted him even though he had never defaulted on any of his payments. He then struggled to get another home within his budget where the owner would trust that he could pay the monthly rent because of the blacklisting.
Within a month or 2 of uprooting his family from their home, one morning his wife was confronted at home with the Sheriff of the court to repossess all his belongings due to a misunderstanding. A certain relative had given his details as their place of residence and this relative was deep in debt. Fortunately Eugene was aware of the relative’s actions and had an Affidavit drawn up to safe guard himself. Sorting this out was still stressful as he did not know what the Sheriff’s final decision would be. They eventually repossessed the relative’s SUV and Eugene’s possessions were safe.
A week later Eugene took ill and the doctor’s prognosis was that his system was extremely run down. I gave him a week off so he could recover. His medical aid was exhausted as his children had gotten ill during the year so he had to pay cash for treatment.
Last Friday Eugene had to leave urgently after hearing that his father had another stroke (he had a stroke last year). The look on his face at the time was painful yet he tried to hide it with a smile. Writing this letter for me was painful enough and filled my eyes with tears just thinking about what Eugene and his family has gone through the past year. I cannot begin to imagine their pain in having to deal with all that.
During all the situations above, Eugene has remained a strong and supportive person at work, always with a smile on his face getting the job done. How he manages to cope with all this and still perform at work, God alone knows. The only time we would hear about it was when he would ask for time off or to leave early to rush to deal with another emergency.
I would like to ask for assistance that can bring some kind of relief and joy to Eugene and his family, something that could turn this bleak year into a joyous end. Our team have discussed and agreed that we would like to ask for assistance with school fees, school clothes and stationeries and maybe groceries for a few months. This is normally a huge expense. If it is possible, gifts for the children as they are also affected by this. The collection we have made could help alleviate some of the expenses.
He is a small man but very big in heart.
This request comes from his management and colleagues in Production Support.
Ps. Eugene sent me an sms this morning saying that he had to go to the hospital to wash his father then was going to go somewhere just to be alone as this year was too much to handle. He cannot see himself facing anybody at this time. He will call me later when he feels strong enough. (please do not mention this as it was his inner most feelings and expressing his pain. Not something he usually does).

Hello I am a 17 year old thats hopefully metriculating this year. I doubt my wish is as important as some of the wishes ive read and can imagine. So if not for xmas maybe boxing day. If you could wish for anything i’d ask for the opportunity to go on tour with Lil Wayn and/or Drake. My dream is to be one of the worlds best rapping entertainers someday and im almost 100 percent sure that rapping alongside Lil Wayn will make my dream a reality as it did for Drake.

Hi, I don’t know if this is the right place to place my Christmas wish, bit I will try anyway. My name is Debbie McLardy and our families story is a long one… My husband and I both were unemployed for 8 years I only subsequently got a job and am battling to keep up with the back log in bills and we had no car for many years. A friend of my husband’s lent us a car which has broken down. My hubby does the odd plumbing job to be able to bring food into the household. I have now bought a car but cannot afford to put food on the table. My daughter aged 14yrs, excels at school and has received numerous certificates and medals for academics and my son aged 13 years excels at cricket and has won trophies and medals for cricket -(He would like to be the next S.A. Cricket player..I don’t want to dampen his dream but I cannot afford extra lessons in cricket to develop his talent and as for both of them I cannot afford the school fees and the uniform s so expensive. I try to sell the odd thing on Bid or Buy to try and bring a little cash in and also get up early and sell at flea markets where I can… Our family have never been on holiday since my children were 2 & 3 years old They say they cannot remember what the sea looks like. I would like to take them on holiday one day, but it will have to be next year as I just started a new job. When both my hubby and I were unemployed we lived off my Mom’s pension and I felt bad taking from her very month. She s also a very sickly lady & has to live permantely on oxygen. It is a long and lonely road and I nearly gave up hope last year I tried to end my life as I was finding life too hard and it seemed like there was no hope in sight, but I remembered my precious kids and it pulled me through. I do fight alot with m hubby over finance which in turn affects the kids so much so that it did affect my son with his studies and daughter tried to take it in her stride but you can see she has been affected too. There were times we had no food in the house and we prayed to God to help us. I still believe n God and am determined to not give up hope…

Solve the rent or own discussion. Rent to own homes serve an important purpose in today’s gloomy economy: They give individuals the chance to decide if they’d be better off as tenants or homeowners.

I would like to make a wish list for my sister and niece who live together and are raising my deceased nephews daughter. The have one income and a part time income from my sister. My sister suffered a personal tragedy a few years ago when her home was broken into by a few blacks bearing weapons and all her furniture and a car was taken. The attack was carried out in front of her children. My eldest sister is recovery from cancer, we all try to help but as the economy has worsend, it is no longer possible and we are all trying to stay afloat. They would appreciate a years groceries and any weight loss or self image building programme for amanda to help her to become employable and to rebuild her life. Amandas grown son is in and out of Weskoppies due to an accident that has left him with mental problems. He comes home when he is well, stays for a few weeks, then steals some items and a bank card and leaves again. This leaves the family a little worse off every time.
I personally battle with bi polar ii {i have no medical aid) as does my 16 year old daughter who is currently hospitised. I am trying to get her into Face face to complete a one year course next year.I will really appreciate some help with this as I too, have no financial backing. I am unemployed, divorced and have no way of meeting my daughter’s dream.

Christmas wish xxx.
I am Mamorena.
Sending a wish for my lovely mother Emily.
Mama works very hard but she can’t affort things she needs.
I would like to send a christmas wish for mama Emily, mama has been working very hard for us. My sister, me, my younger sister, and our father. She can’t buy herself anything, but she doesn’t complain and each year she promise herself she will buy things she needs and the furnisher for our house, because most of the furnisher in our house is second, third or forth hand. We sometimes use things my father picks from the dumpingside. He fix them, we use them, because he is a handyman, but our house does not have anything better. We are ashamed to have visitors ever. Because even if its clean it looks like a clubhouse for kids and it breaks my mothers heart not being able to buy what she needs. She works as a cleaner here at Buffelsvlei wild animal park for + – R 1000 sometimes it’s less than R 900, because she borrows money during the month. She can’t buy enough food for the whole month. She can’t buy herself clothes or shoes for work. She would buy like R 25 shoes from streets. And she makes sure we never go hungry even if there is nothing to eat at home she always makes a plan. To me she is a woman who never gives up. She dedicated her life to us, and she will work hard for anything. She never complains, but I can see she wish she could do more. I remember asking her what would make her christmas the best one to remember. She said if she could win the lotto, or had the money she would buy us enough good clothes. And she would buy herself a stove, fridge, freezer, kitchen rags, a bedroom suit, sofa’s, blankets, a washing machine she needs the most, microwave, a roomdevider, hi-fi system, t.v, a kettel, iron, a slow cooker pot, a computer for us and to help my little sister with her homework. And while she said those things tears were running down her face, it broke my heart. I wished there was something i could do to help her, but i wish and hope that her wish will be granted.
Please help me put a smile on her tired face. I know she deserves to be happy too. Merry Christmas.
My contact and cell numbers are 076 025 9238 and my mothers contact and cell number 073 034 9290. My name is Mamorena (Johannah)

Hey this is new to me. We never ask for anything ir complain. If i could wish for anything this Christmas it would be to have a home of our own and everything that goes with it. It would be nice to have things of our own thats not borrowed or second hand. Would be nice to have a blackberry for my husband and myself for the phones we have are not our own. My husband works at a game lodge were we stay in one of the rooms. We are grateful for what the people he works for do for us, God bless them. He doesn’t earn much ans more than halve goes to his ex wife and that makes it difficult. And life today as it is is already difficult. I have a son of 7 years, he doesn’t know his dad at all. he trough us away when my son was 10 days old and till this day wants nothing to do with his son nor has he supported in anyway. I can give him everything emotionaly but money wise its not possible. Please open your hearts and make my wishes come true.
Allthough we have nothing we love each other and are happy but oit would be great to have these things.
God bless you.

HI
My name is Gavin and I’m 16 and I am writing this in for my Grandmother and Grandfather
My Grandfather is 79 going for 80 , he is in a wheelchair for about 15 years and my grandmother is 71 and every morning she gets up at 5 and baths and gets my granddad ready for the day; my Grandmother Works so hard to look after him.
Because they are both getting old my Grandmother is struggling to do the things and money matters are not always that good and the products and equipment my Granddad needs aren’t always cheap.
My Grandfather has been in and out of hospital a lot, 4 times last year.
Once he got sick and it took 4 men and my Grandmother to get him in the car
And now he is getting weak so they only go out certain times of the day because he gets weak and my Grandmother cant get him in the car and cant all ways see the family because the car is not the best and they are both old and my Grandmother struggles to get him in and out of the car and they don’t have the money to fly around.
In about the next 5 years she will get weaker and she will need help with my Granddad but don’t have they money for help
I’m 16 and I have tired to lift my Grandfather in the chair just an inch and I can’t
My Grandmother is 71 and she puts him on the bed and in the car (citi golf) it’s not very wheelchair friendly alone.
So many people take off there hat for her because she is not young, got back problems e.t.c. and she can still do all that. They are like 2 peas in a pod they are married for 53 years and they are grateful for what they have , despite the problems.
I love them and I look up to them and you u can ask any one who knows them will say the same.
She is just magical and she has the spirit of God in her and she never complains.
So she needs help in some way. Hope you guys can help.
Thank You

Hi you guys! I have this chistmas wish for a little 6 year old girl, that I pray will come true! This is a special little girl~! Her name is Maylene!
My husband’s brother and his wife were going to adopt her, after she had been with several couples and was molested by previous couples. Johan’s wife decided one moring to take off with another man and divorced Johan. ue to the ressesion Johan’s lost his job and had to give up his house and started battling to keep up with the dept as he only does odd little jobs. My husband and I gave them place to live and I buy her things that se needs, it was her 6th birthday on 2 November 2011, Johan could not buy her a birthday present so I gave our present to him so that he can give her the present, we realy try and help them as we do not know where se will end up if child care takes her away from him and places her with someone else.
There is only one problem, Johan can not afford to send her to pre school, this little girl sits Maylene needs to go to pre school in 2012 as she can not go to grade 1 if she does not attend pre school as she battles to count to 5 she realy needs some kind of schooling.
As we also have a son that is in matric and is going to Potch Univercity which is costing us a lot of money, we can not afford to pay for her schooling!
we realy try our hardest to keep Maylene with Johan, we can assist them with clothes and food and the small day to day things but we need help to pay for her schooling.
I realy and sincerely hope that you find it in your hearts to make this christmas wish come true.
Kind Regards

we realy try our hardest to keep Maylene with Johan, we can assist them with clothes and food and the small day to day things but we need help to pay for her schooling.
I realy and sincerely hope that you find it in your hearts to make this christmas wish come true.
Kind Regards

My name is Jackie, and this is my story!
I ‘m a single mother to Koketso, she’s turned 18 recently and is finishing her matric exams as we speak…
2011 has proved to be a tough and yet challenging year for me and my family. In 2006 I got offered position within a very successful ICT company. The salary pack’s afforded me the security that goes with being employed, i.e. Car, house, child school – fees and all the other expenses.
Koki and I have been fortunate to have my aunt quit her job, so she could look after my daughter because my work required me to do a lot of travelling. So, I was naturally happy to be responsible for 2 households!
It all changed in 2008 after serving 2 years at the company, the news of funds mismanagement came to light. I this was a major blow! As a result the company was placed under liquidation. Once the announcement was made, a lot of people gave up and immediately stopped working, uncertain of their future within the company. Needless to say, I carried on working oblivious to the fact. We knew of possible investors wanting to rescue the business, so with that in mind I continued. A week before the official company closure, I required some documents from management. I went into the CEO’S office to ask for them, my then CEO was so shocked that I was still taking my job seriously despite the fact. The next morning when I arrived at the business premises, to my shock and horror we were all denied entry to the building because the liquidators were now appointed and they were protecting the company assets out of fear that people may retaliate by removing assets. I remember thinking to myself; what now? Right there I re -determined to not be defeated but to carry on trusting in the process 100%. My mentor’s quote kept playing in my head: don’t foolishly discard your faith in yourself when the crucial moment comes along”
This reality roused me to carry on the fight! Fight for survival. The fight was an internal strife! I fought with myself to stay in the race and re – determined that was no matter what, I would persevere and soldier on whatever the outcome; it would be the best outcome for me! My life coach sends me an encouragement, which read:
Do not have doubts simply because you don’t work. Do not be discouraged because you do not have an easy and secure existence right now. True character is forged under the direst circumstances! Decide, live and take action to correct or influence your circumstances!
The same week I receive a call from my then CEO requesting an urgent meeting with me. At the meeting I was introduced to the COO representing the new investors. My CEO had told them about me and as a result I was offered a position together with eleven other colleagues. How wondrous!
Every obstacle presents an equivalent opportunity, I had come out unharmed! How reassuring!
I officially started work in June of 2008 and went on to achieve “great wins” for both myself and the company. However, the victory was once again short – lived! In May 2011; 23 months after my joining the company; we were confronted with a liquidation High court order. The main funder and share holder of the business pulled out of the company leaving us with no capex.
Without cash injection into the business the company closed down, leaving me once again without any security whatsoever!
This was yet another setback in my life, I suffered another blow and the implications were scary. What was going to become of me Koki and my family???? This was déjà vous…….
I came very close to quitting but after receiving so much support, love and encouragement, quitting was just not an option for me!
This quote from my mentor keeps me going:
“No matter what painful trials we encounter, we must not harbour doubt in our hearts. Nor should we be discouraged or succumb to complaint if we don’t enjoy an easy and secure existence in this life. Those who maintain faith in them is with such a non – regressing spirit are true winners. The trouble is that we try to avoid looking at ourselves and instead we blame everyone but ourselves. Therefore you should never try to avoid or gloss over the very real problems you face in life. Instead bring forth the courage and attack your problems directly by applying yourself”
For the 12 months I had to contend with very little if at all resources. Whatever saving I had, it was all gone. As a result, my house went on the market to avoid fore- closure, made arrangements for Koki’s school fees requirements. Scarcity became a norm! Koki and I came to quickly learn how to be very creative (LOL). We lived though it during our lights getting cut off due to non payment, Koki missed a very important GRADE 12 Field trip,
My bills kept pilling as high as “Mount Kilimanjaro”, that I chose to move back home and live with my parents! This was the lowest point of my life to date!
Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I did the following everyday with consistency:
Get up @ 5pm, do a 4km run
@ 7am I would be in front of my PC, job hunting and following up on my prospects
Meditate and pray for my situation to change for the better
As a rule my family and I vowed to never allow ourselves to give in to passive resignation, to never complain when it got worse, because it did get worse!
I exerted myself by daily giving my times and resources to an NGO. 3 projects I was involved in are June 16 Youth Programme in Soweto, the 67 Minutes service for Madiba day. We went into Alex with a group of friends and made donations and spent the day with Orphans and senior citizens. I’m currently involved in COP17 a volunteer for an NGO exhibiting in Durban.
Through such efforts, I have expanded my life and never allowed my limitations to hinder me from contributing to a greater cause bigger than own life! This I have learned and imparted the same spirit to Koki. I continue to teach her the value of giving! Never let life’s challenges get you down, see and live beyond your limits. I know for sure that you receive in proportion to what you give in. The human spirit can endure all this and so much more. I’m happy to share my story and hope that though my story I’m able rouse courage on someone who’s about to give up on themselves. I hope they stop for even a minute just to ponder!
My wish for Christmas??????????
Wow…… I wish for me and Koki to go away, specifically be in Cape Town or anywhere outside of Joburg! We very much would love to use the time away to re- group, replenish, plan and simply just enjoy life’s simple pleasures! A new scenario is exactly what we yearning for right about now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For Koki it would be a great way to end her schooling years! She is a good kid and has been through so much already. It would serve as both Koki’s birthday belated gift and a Christmas present. But most importantly out of this experience, she will appreciate and value the gift of always persevering throughout her entire life, knowing that life can be equally just as good!
Thank you so much for affording me the opportunity to dream!
Kind Regards,
Jackie

Hello. My wish is for my friend Sonia and her family. My and Sonia’s husbands were assualted on the 29 January 2011. Sonia’s husband unfortunately passed away 17 days after the assualt. We have all been traumatized by the assualt as not only did Sonia loose her husband but also a monthly income. My husband did survive the assualt, but lost his best friend. We are coping to the best of our ability. Sonia’s children are trying to keep the household running but it is not easily. They do not always have enough to pay everything, and some months even the rent is in arrears. My wish is a helping hand in making there Christmas a little easier so that they can at least have a nice meal and maybe a small gift each. It is already going to be difficult to have this Christmas without a husband and a father. I would be very grateful

Thankyou and a Merry Christmas for all at Highveld.

Hi! My name is Michelle and i’d like to tell u a story. My mum is in desperate need of a job there is a possibility that me,my babysister and baby brother won’t get Christmas clothes or Christmas gifts this year.My mum is a hairstylist and she is renting she has no clients so she can’t afford to pay rent she is also behind on my babysister’s school fees so there is a possibility my babysister won’t get her report for this year until she pays the outstanding balance.Sometimes if my mum has no money to go to work[she goes to work by taxi]we end up going to bed with an empty stomach cause we have no money but she looks for food from some of her friends who live in the neighbourhood they give us food if we’re lucky. My mum and dad are divorcing so my dad only pays 4 my school fees.So i’m asking u 94.7 2 pls help us i listen to 94.7 everyday from Breakfast Xpress to the Afternoon drive.Pls,pls pls help us

Hi

Hi There,
My mother lost her leg when she was 14years old due to a bike accident. She had 2 children (Me and my sister) with my father and raised us while she was on crutches.
When we started primary school she went for an appointment for a new leg but unfortunately my father could not afford it.
She is a housewife while my father is working, she can not find a job as she wants to help my father to pay our house bond, but she struggles to walk as her wooden foot is cracking and she gets blister on her knee from the wood as her socket is worn out of age and this wooden leg is holding her back to enjoy the most of life.
Her leg is over 10 years old and is urgently in need of a new one. Her spirit is broken as she also wants to enjoy life with us, but keeps on falling.
The leg also looks terrible after so many years, so she cant wear short pants.
Your help would be much appreciated
Regards
Her eldest daughter – Alicia

Hi there,
Today is just a beautifull day. The soft rain that fell down this morning since just before 5 o’clock, set the mood for today just right. Tahns you Lord for another lovely day.
We all might think we are not fortunate but we are. We can breath, smell, see, walk, run, feel, and live life to the fullest. Unfortunately there are many other people that are A LOT less fortunate than most of us. Yes most of of struggle to get by financially, groceries wise, pertol wise. Its really not nice to worry about tomorrow if today isnt already sorted – but we always make a plan.
My letter today is for one of the very FEW Schools that gave my daughter 3 of the most magical, improved her in all ways possible and was there for her when we could not (she was in the hostel) we couldonly pick her up every second weekend as our finances also only cover the bare necesities monthly. We took our daughter out end last year to place her into a schol closer to home – which was the worst thing we could have done, Her grades have deteriorated massively, she cries evry day about her “new friend” and her teacher – That we will not get into as the Department of Education will have to take care of that. Our little girl want to go back to her old school because they genuinly go the exstra mile for EVERY SINGLE BOY AND GIRL NO MATTER WHAT COLOUR ORE SHAPE!!!! MEERHOF SCHOOL ROCKS! I pray one day Tammy can go back as she really misses the school and its true never move your little one where they are most happy and mostly improved as child and being.
Now this letter is to ask if there is something OUT OF THE ORDINARY that we all can do for the school. Meerhof deserves so much but as a school for Disabled babies (children) they also have to get around with the bare minimum. I would like to ask if e can arrange a Fund Raiser for the school. They need some new buildings for classes, they need airconditioning in the hostels ( believe you me it can get humid as hell in there with all fans running and windows opened) they need new fisio equipment to help our little diamonds, they need tables and chairs for the little ones, and the big ones….. the list is long but if we might be able to take 10% of the load of them it should make a massive difference.
Now when our little girl was there, i can say that the schools assisted us regularly with assistance by sending food, petrol money, assisting in hostel fees that we could not pay and still owe a little on. If i could take my little girl back tomorrow i would – it is all she wants. We can not offer anything to the school but assistance and trying to improve – which i know will be appreciated.
Meerhof personnel does not just do their jobs, they are all one family, have one team and one goal! I can admit that the school our daughter attends now – is not AND NEVER will be a match to MEERHOF SCHOOL IN HARTEBEESPOORT DAM.
Please please please, can you get back to me on this one. I will work after hours and keep all my remaining Annual Leave days to do what is required for a super fund raiser.
i am not too clued up with Fund Raisers but i am willing to go the exstra mile to do what needs to be done for the school.

Yet another point to think about to acquire a company is to employing a law firm. In buy to make your purchase as protected as possible, it is a massive reward to have your personal law firm during the total method. This not only scares absent everyone who calculatedly misrepresents what they are offering, but it also guarantees that you receive every thing that you need. Enterprise legal professionals, particularly ones with experience in internet enterprise product sales, presently know what you should be getting in terms of electronic and reasonable home. They can also make certain that all of the proper paperwork and documentation is signed at the time of sale. Even if you do not want to pay a lawyer to be at your aspect via the complete procedure, you really should at least have a single look more than all of the closing paperwork prior to the transaction is accomplished.
