Apparently the positivity that exudes from SA Rocks is reaching the higher levels of the media!
According to cnn.com SA’s public broadcaster is launching SABC International with the goal of challenging the media stereotypes surrounding Africa.
Fantastic and about time too. I must admit I don’t know how this is going to turn out in the long or even short run. The SABC has had some questionable incidents this year and in the past regarding media freedom and the like. But nonetheless I think this is a great step forward for the development and altering of Western perception of Africa.

I don’t think is so much of a launch as a re-launch, the SABC has been running SABC Africa (the News channel that every one is talking about) for more then two years now if I am not mistaken. Judging from the very low quality of news that the SABC is providing these days, with its bias that is heavily in the government’s favour, I don’t think I will be watching it.
It is hardly a bastion of high quality, even hand reporting and analysis.

I must be kidding for mentioning CNN or BBC, SABC can’t compete with them buddy. You should say perhaps Al Jazeera, FOX, SKY NEWS, FRANCE24, CCTV (China) or others to compete with CNN not SABC or SABC Internatinal, its lack of quality in equipment and personal, If you are on SABC Internationnal they are one journal who is singing in his report from (Manase Tubase SABC News Washington) do you realy thing it is even near CNN ?. CNN 10/10, BBC 9/10, Al Jazeera 8.5/10, FRANCE24 8.4/10, SABC 3.5/10.
