I absolutely LOVE this band. Taxi Violence is phe-bloody-nomenal and has international appeal with a dose of local SA flavour.

If you haven’t heard of them or heard any of their music, best you get a move on. Visit their MySpace page and listen there. They are gigging throughout SA and will be in Stellies in the next few days.

You should without a doubt have heard the above song on local radio stations around SA.

Do yourself another favour, support local music, visit the Taxi Violence site and buy their album.

Why don't you give this post some love?

By international appeal, I assume you mean they sound like every other band currently playing in the UK? Isn’t it time we invented our own sound?

Apart from the fact that my ex appears to be in the video (hi Cathy!), I don’t see anything exceptional, new or different about this band. Pity.

I see and hear where you are coming from Walton, but will anything make the SA music loving public happy? Freshlyground is old news, they are tiresome and boring (Meanwhile they are the most african and appealing band to come out of SA since Mango Groove), Prime Circle is generic, Parlotones are wierd, Taxi violence sounds like everyone else.

I know, I feel you, but Personally I love their energy, their spark and the way they have attacked their music.

I think their energetic and full-hearted approach to not only the making of their songs, but their shear performance quality will carry this band to bigger and better venues around the world. They are in the same playing field as many of their great influences and deserve for the world to hear them rock hard not only over the radio, but live. They know how to put on a smashing show that will rock anyone to the core!! They will soon be an international rock force to be reckoned with and I’m proud that they are a product of South Africa.
