After posting about Proudly SA having some trouble, Paul Jacobson engaged in a conversation with me about what could be done to resolve the issue.
Paul has already blogged about this and we decided that a community based initiative might be the answer and set up a wiki for SA Rocks. This wiki is a place for people to visit and write about positive and great SA initiatives. It is open to people, organisations, companies, groups and basically anyone who know of anything positive and cool happening in SA.
We are hoping that there will be no advertising spam on there and if there is it will simply be removed.
From the wiki:
This is a place for South Africans to share achievements, organisations, people, places and anything that is PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN.
For those of you who have no idea what a wiki is, here is an excerpt from WIKIpedia:
A wiki (sometimes wiki wiki) is a web application designed to allow multiple authors to add, remove, and edit content.[1] The multiple author capability of wikis makes them effective tools for mass collaborative authoring.[2] Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia, is one of the best-known wikis.[3]
Now if you have a great website, cool podcast, rocking charity, incredible business, organisation or idea or even know of a person doing phenomenal things please add them to the wiki. I will use the wiki as a source for SA Rocks content and this blog will become a detailed platform for general wiki entries.
Lastly, if you think you can help me set up a better wiki or have a more detailed, intricate idea, please feel free to post on the wiki or email me!

Terrific idea Stii, I registered AIM 911 immediately, but when I logged the logo, could not diminish size, can you help there please?
Fantastic idea to create a new posiblity in the stead of PSA and then on top of it to ‘wiki’ it – congrats!

I read through your introductory blog again, and now I’m not sure I was not spamming by logging AIM there; seems a fine line between registering a South African initiative and spamming ; If I crossed the line, just remove it please Stii

I think that AIM is OK. I had a look through and I think that it is a great solution organisation to a problem that exist. It’s all good in my books!!
