I applaud the efforts made to make the internet real for the whole of Africa. The potential impact of the internet as an enabling tool is infinite, and will result in true liberation of the continent. It is the only level playing field for access to technology, innovation, ideas, information, goods and services.

I had spent a serious amount of resources a few years ago trying to push a project through the Umsubomvu youth fund in South Africa to bring the internet to South African townships nationally through 2000 access points located in the townships, but they failed to understand the potential impact, and I eventually abandoned the whole thing.

The work of people like Rafiq as well as Max in promoting these actions and driving these projects, both directly through active participation, as well as through providing publicity and visiblility is admirable and worthy of not only applause but active support.

Rock on !!!
