A South Africa book scooped first prize at the annual Gournamd World Cookbook Awards.

Here is an excerpt about To The Banquetting House: African Cuisine: An Epic Journey from Xarra Books Online:

This book tells of Africa’s dynamic history through its cooking pots. Anna Trapido and Coco Reinharz evoke the unique beauty, fine flavours and unsurpassed opulence of Africa and the African Diaspora. The story of how the people of Africa shaped the modern world is demonstrated through the survival of African cuisine in countries such as Cuba, Haiti, Brazil, India, Iraq, USA. This cookbook takes you on a culinary journey of the flavours, aromas, cultures and histories of Africa and its cooking. The book is interactive, beautifully photographed and has the most useful cooks tips for finding alternative ingredients, how to weigh ingredients easily… as well as the history of some the spices and ingredients which have become a prominent feature in African cooking in the different regions on the continent. Not just a cookbook but a delightful history and travel through Africa. You can find recipes from ways of cooking mogodu, using amasi for sauce to oxtail terrine and Namibian oysters. The finest African cookbook yet published.

The book beat out over 6000 other entries to win the prestigious award.

Congratulations to the Authors, Anna Trapido and Coco Fathi Reinarhz for their incredible acheivement!

Thank God for your website! I have a Google Alert for South African Wine. Your website came up with cheering news about this cookbook. I know that everyone has an opinion in life and that’s as it should be, but why does so much opinion have to be negative and destructive?

The reason for my comment? Another blog that came up on the same search, but which is diametrically opposite in opinion to SA Rocks! Even just reading the title of the blog made me feel unhappy, so I won’t pass on the URL. Keep up the good work SA Rocks and make us all feel happy!

I personally think, that red wine or white its all depends on personal choice and wine quality. For me quality is more important. Most of the time I choose to drink red wine and either one is good for health also. I am not that keen on ice wine but I don’t mind. Also, check this page that is all about the wine SA topic http://www.wine-expert-101.com/Wine-Sa.php

I absolutely are not familiar with that which you necessarily mean while you claim that. Possibly My partner and i anyone might explain this kind of for me improved. It’s not at all precisely the same at this point is Parts of Asia. The natives it’s possible find it slightly diversely. I usually love to search for the Asian woman point of view.
